Admit it..you have questions about tanning. What does it do to your skin? What is the best tanning bed to lay in? What is the difference between a tan or a burn? Well, I'm going to try to answer all of your questions with information I have found all over the web.

In the beginning...

For a long time now, people have thought of a tan as healthy and complimentary to the skintone. It wasn't always this way - Many societies throughout history have valued pale skin. The Romans even used chalk to whiten their skin! In England, many years ago, translucent skin was the fashion. The states soon followed in this quest for the popular pale look.

The new fashion trend ...

During the 20's, women stopped wearing clothing that covered all of their skin. Naturally, skin saw more sun and became darker.  Coco Chanel, a French designer, took a cruise and spent too long in the sun. As more celebrities hit the beach during holidays, women followed and it became a major fashion trend.
